Introduction

We required an automation tester to design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure software quality and functionality. They work with developers to identify test cases and create scripts that simulate user interactions.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

A Quality Engineer with expertise in Automation specializes in creating and maintaining automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. They possess in-depth knowledge of various test automation tools and technologies, using them to build optimized test scenarios, develop automation for executing tests, and manage test data and environment-related automation. This role requires understanding and integrating testing automation into overall delivery automation, aligning with contemporary trends like Agile, DevOps, and Containers. In summary, a Quality Engineer-Automation is a skilled professional who streamlines testing processes through automation, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts

• Identify and document software defects and inconsistencies

• Participate in test planning, estimation, and review processes

• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration process

• Record problems and issues in accordance with the project's plans

• Document defects using the project's defect management tools

• Work with the application team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process
