Description

As a Material Planner you will play a critical role in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently through strategic management of materials and inventory to meet production schedules while maintaining optimal stock levels. The Material Planner will collaborate closely with suppliers, internal departments (Mexico and the US), and production teams to forecast material needs and align them with production targets. The ideal candidate will utilize planning tools and methodologies to monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to mitigate shortages and excesses. Your expertise in supply chain management will drive efficiency improvements, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity as measured by conformance to Ship By commitments. In this dynamic environment, you will also oversee the implementation of material requirements planning systems/processes and continuously analyzing performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Strong communication and negotiation skills will be essential as you engage with suppliers and customers to ensure the timely procurement of quality materials. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material plans to meet production requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to replenish stock as needed.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
• Analyze production schedules to assess material demand and adjust plans accordingly.
• Utilize systems to forecast needs and streamline inventory management processes.
• Identify and resolve material shortages or excess inventory situations promptly.
• Generate reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience in Material Planning or inventory management within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of MRP and inventory management software.
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of copper/fiber assembly processes and materials.
• Strong English skills (written and verbal)
