Major Tasks
This role involves setting ambitious sustainability goals, implementing initiatives that align with corporate values, and fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the PS organization. This accountability includesbut is not limited to: -
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: develop and implement regional HSE & Sustainability strategies and policies that align with the PS organization's goals and regulatory requirements. Provide leadership and guidance on HSE & Sustainability matters across all levels of the organization. Develop a solid HSE & Sustainability foundation in the regions to build a high-performance culture, increasing productivity, and raising morale and engagement.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: ensure regional compliance with local, national, and international HSE & sustainability regulations.
RISK ASSESSMENT & MGT: conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures. Develop and overseethat regional emergency response plans and procedures are intact, relevant and current.
TRAINING & AWARENESS: design and implement training programs to educate employees in the region on HSE & Sustainability. Promote a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the region.
MONITORING & REPORTING: Establish metrics for HSE & Sustainability performance and provide reports for effective performance management. Analyze data related to incidents, compliance and training to identify trends and areas for improvement.
COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT: collaborate with cross- functional teams across PS to integrate HSE & Sustainability considerations into business processes. Engage with external stakeholders and industry groups to advocate best practices.
SUSTAINABILITY: Lead the region in integrating sustainability into all aspects of the business and support initiatives aimed at reducing PS environmental footprint, such aswaste reduction, energy efficiency and sustainable sourcing and packaging, and social responsibility.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE & Sustainability and bring in industry trends, best practices and innovations in HSE & Sustainability practices.
Skills
Overall, the following key capabilities are required for this role:
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE EXPERTISE: In-depth knowledge of HSE & Sustainability regulations with the ability to conduct risk assessment and develop effective mitigation strategies. International experience in HSE & Sustainability, as well as Management Systems Standards (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, GMP) -
LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION: high capacity to inspire and motivate employees to prioritize HSE & Sustainability and to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong change management skills and willing as courageous change agent to experiment with new paths and ways of working. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage relationships with stakeholders at various levels, both internally (within the local business and regional management team) and externally.
TRATEGIC THINKING: Ability to think strategically and develop HSE & Sustainability strategy and roadmap aligned with the company's growth objectives.
