Key Responsibilities
· Search for indirect material suppliers.
· Negotiation with suppliers.
· Generation of purchase orders.
· Closing of negotiations .
· Purchase and payment tracking management.
- Analyzes Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Advanced Planning Scheduling (APS) and planning of direct and indirect material planning for new products.
- Typically supports less complex commodities or low/medium level, medium/high spend commodities.
- Supports new product introductions by securing material for pilot runs. Analyzes MRP system and determines orders to be placed according to schedule.
- Ensures material availability to meet production schedules.
- Elevates issues to Senior Commodity Planner as applicable.
- Maintains communication with suppliers, monitor the delivery of materials.
- Investigates potential for delays and/or quality issues, identifies alternative (approved) plans and elevates when any sourced item will not arrive on time to support the schedule.
- Manages inventory levels to ensure inventory goals are met, develop strategies to increase inventory turns and align according to production rate.
- Identifies and engages internal functions as needed to meet customer/supplier expectations.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Technical or Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
- 1+ years. Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years.
- Proven experience as a commodity planner or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with analyzes Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Advanced Planning Scheduling (APS) and planning of direct and indirect material planning for new products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyzes MRP system and determines orders to be placed according to schedule.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Basic knowledge on generation of purchase orders.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
