As a company, we specialize in providing a wide range of environmental consulting services and solutions, with our core offerings including administrative support functions for our clients, environmental assessment (e.g., Phase I & II ESAs), remediation, reclamation, environmental risk and liability assessment, technical reviews of reports and regulatory compliance.
Our dynamic team is comprised of experienced environmental professionals, working to support clients on understanding, managing, and addressing environmental liabilities through a full life-cycle approach.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) – Technical report preparation for upstream oil and gas sites. Successful candidates will be trained in how to complete Phase I & II ESA reports as per Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) requirements.
- Environmental Assessment Support – Data extraction/compilation, report processing, drafting, filing, and record management.
- Data Management Center – Manage environmental data from laboratories and field programs using ESdat and ArcGIS to create tables, figures, and borehole logs.
- Administrative Support – Client program support/record keeping, safety & field form management, data tracking, invoicing/3rd party duties.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent English Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate high fluency in both written and verbal English. To ensure they meet this requirement, a proficiency test will be administered.
- Computer Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft tools, such as Excel and Word, is essential for effective communication and data analysis within our organization. Experience with ArcGIS and ESdat or similar software packages would be considered an asset.
- Full-Time Equivalent Workload: We expect candidates to commit to a full-time workload of 40 hours per week. To ensure transparency and efficient scheduling, applicants are required to disclose their availability and preferred working hours.
- Strong Technical Background: We seek candidates with a robust technical background and a proven track record of being hardworking and quick learners. This quality is crucial for adapting to the challenges and demands of our industry.
- Academic Credentials: We value academic credentials that are equivalent to a degree in administration, environmental sciences, or engineering. These qualifications provide a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise necessary for our work.
HIRING PROCESS:
- Interview by Mexico (MX) Office: Prospective candidates undergo a phone and in-person interview conducted by our MX team to evaluate your qualifications and assess whether you meet our core requirements.
- English Test: To gauge candidates' proficiency in written and verbal English, we administer an English language assessment to ensure effective communication within our international team.
- GCL Getting to Know You Form: Candidates are required to fill out a comprehensive form provided by our company, known as the GCL Getting to Know You Form. This allows us to gather detailed information about their background, experiences, and skills.
- DISC and WIDGET Personality Profiles: We utilize DISC and WIDGET personality assessment tools to gain insights into candidates' behavioral traits, working styles, and compatibility with our company culture. This enables us to form a comprehensive understanding of their potential fit within our organization.
- Final Joint Interview: Our recruitment process includes a joint interview, involving a review by the GCL Leadership Team and the MX team. This collaborative approach ensures a comprehensive evaluation of candidates, considering both technical qualifications and cultural fit.
