Description
This position works closely with the Health Services Coordinator (i.e., Company Chief Medical Officer) in the Monterrey office to support the delivery of Fitness to Work, Alcohol and Drug and Disability Management programs to Mexico employees and candidates. It contributes to the overall success of the Health Services programs and is responsible for the administration, development, delivery, analysis, and management of systems related to medical fitness for duty, alcohol and drug programs, medical leaves, within the railway business. This includes aligning these requirements with organizational objectives and providing valuable solutions, programs, and approaches.
The position receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. They will solve a range of moderately complex problems and lead projects of limited scope and portions of larger projects. They will provide guidance to team members and contribute to department objectives and outcomes as guided. The postion provides input on the delivery of administrative processes to support the interpretation and implementation of HS programs.
Accountabilities
- Assist the Occupational Health Coordinator (i.e., Company Chief Medical Officer ) in the Monterrey office to execute the Company's Health Services programs, including Alcohol and Drug and Fitness to Work.
- Help provide day-to-day oversight and direction to a team of approximately 80 contracted doctors and nurses at over 20 locations across the CPKCM network.
- Serves as the primary adminstrator of the Company's alcohol and drug testing programs, including responsibility for the random selection of employees for testing and ensuring that selected employees are tested.
- Responsible for maintaining and publishing data regarding key CPKCM Health Services system wide metrics, including pre-shift health evaluations, alcohol and drug testing data, and other measurables.
- Reviews, develops, implements and monitors Health Services administrative procedures and protocols to effectively support Health Services policies and programs for Mexico.
- Performs pre-shift health evaluations and alcohol drug testing of employees and contractors, when necessary.
- Assist in the training of Health Services contractors and employees in regard to Health Services' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including expectations regarding the safeguarding of employee medical information.
- Provides emergency medical attention to employees and contractors injured while working or otherwise suffering medical emergencies on Company property.
- Deliver basic first aid training to new hires.
- Responsible for supplying and maintaining first aid kits in buildings, portable first aid kits and automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
- Drive process improvement by proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in an occupational setting.
- Experience working with data and statistics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Preferred
- Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene background.
- Knowledge of CPKCM Health Services processes and locations.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.
Working Conditions
- This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. Since the operation is 24/7, response to medical and drug/alcohol testing issues may involve frequent response to issues occurring after hours or on weekends.
- This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
