Position: IT Applications Specialist Engineering Applications

Position Summary

IT Application Specialist Support the development and implementation of Yazaki North America and Yazaki Europe software applications and business systems. This position will interact with business partners, application development, and software vendors to design, test, support, improve, sunset applications through their lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes needs from internal and external business partners (including suppliers and OEM customers) and selects appropriate software applications and technology to meet business requirements and IT strategies
• Creates specification, diagrams and models to guide custom software development
• Collaborates with system architects, developers, and software vendors to design and develop processes, integrations and technology solutions
• Develops processes and procedures to facilitate improved software usage such as automating repetitive tasks, and to facilitate interaction with applicable operating systems
• Develops skills to operate key applications and provide application support to ensure smooth adoption of technology, including supporting application documentation and training, as needed
• Serve as focal point for logging software related issues and registering problems or enhancements with software vendor
• Manages system upgrades
• Ensures software works properly after maintenance and testing
• Monitoring to ensure app stability
• manages releases for future upgrades and maintenance
• Researches new technology and interacts with software vendors for assistance, knowledge sharing, and driving requirements representing Yazaki interest
• Designing all components of programs and determining how they will work together
