Dematic is seeking Mechanical Engineering Co-Op /Intern for our Product Development SCS group. The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op intern will support the designing and engineering of sustainment activities and new development projects associated with material handling technologies What we offer: Key Responsibilities: Support sustainment activities and upgrades on existing material handling systems. Supports new development projects and design activities. Supports simple and complex designs of parts and sub-system of complex machines. This includes design of machined, extruded, sheet metal and plastic parts. Perform site audits to collect required data. Support the installation of mechanical upgrades. Create Purchase Requests and Parts Order Entry Provide technical support for Estimating Sales, Engineering teams, and Field Operations Skills and Capabilities: A technical understanding of: Knowledge of machine design Ability to learn, maintain and repair material handling systems. Knowledge of CAD design software including AutoCAD, NX Familiarization with computer systems and technologies. Ability to solve design issues and implement effective and cost-efficient solutions. Proven communications skills, flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team of solution-oriented professionals. Tasks and Qualifications: Experience Desired: Fluent in English language (both oral and written) Ability to work with cross-functional teams of engineers and procurement specialists. Education and Certificates: Candidates must be pursuing a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering. Have a GPA of 3.0 or above and be able to start on an agreed upon date with a work schedule to be determined based on the requirements of both Dematic and the candidate. Additional Job Description: To gain an overall understanding of global activities, identifying supply chain risk, and executing supply chain risk mitigation strategies for PFAS emission redux. Work will require cross functional team exercises to identify and reduce PFAS emissions in our global product portfolio.
