 Sustainability Manager

Ensure locations comply with Motherson Sustainability Ambitions by providing guidance on the strategies to establish, maintain and improve sustainability performance according with PKC EHS & Energy Management System, ISO 14064 and ISO 50001.

Responsibilities/ Skills.

·      Comply and ensure compliance of PKC EHS Policy and PKC Energy Management Policy.

·      Develop and ensure the implementation of strategies for the continuous improvement of the energy (electricity, fossil fuels, water) performance of the PKC Mexico-USA plants, in accordance with the requirements of ISO 50001.

·      Coordinate multidisciplinary teams for the design, planning and execution of projects.

·      Hold meetings with the Tactical Energy Committees to ensure that actions to reduce risks and implementation of opportunities related to energy performance are being implemented at the plant. Notify status to plant managers.

·      Ensure that the tactical committees carry out the analyzes of energy use and consumption, as well as follow the energy data collection plan consistently according to what is defined in the SGEMASS.

·      Monitor the energy performance indicators determined by the corporate, the Energy objectives and analyze the results, patterns and opportunities for energy conservation and cost savings reporting progress to his/her immediate supervisor.

·      Carry out the evaluation of legal compliance and other requirements with a focus on energy management.

·      Participate as lead auditor in internal audits and receive external audits focused on energy management and recommend energy saving solutions.

·      Support tactical committee leaders in preparing for and participating in locally scheduled management review meetings.

·      Follow up on Non-Conformities from External Audits related to energy management.

·      Support tactical committees in the development and implementation of projects for energy improvement and sustainable use of water and reduction of greenhouse gases.

·      Participate in the strategic energy management committee.

·      Ensure the quality of the information provided by the localities for the Motherson Sustainability Report.

·      Keep climate transition plans updated. Lead initiatives to reduce emissions scope 1, 2 and 3.

·      Provide training related to Environmental Sustainability (energy management, greenhouse gas emissions, water care, etc.)

·      Support the development and implementation of our renewable energy strategy

·      Manage relationship with third party energy consultants, including coordinating energy supply contracts, enterprise-wide energy usage data and energy efficiency rebates

·      Work with company stakeholders and external partners to advance sustainability efforts and PKC across operations and the supply chain; act as a sustainability consultant to our internal stakeholders to provide expertise on sustainability best practices, projects and initiatives

·      Others as assigned.

·      Comply with the fulfil environmental, safety and health legal requirements set out in the legislation and regulations of our customers and other applicable stakeholder's requirements to whom we are related to our activities and products, as well as those EHS requirements established by the Company.


 Profile.

·       Bachelor's degree in Sustainability Engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field or 5 years' experience in similar position. 

·      Master's degree preferably.

·      Five years' experience in implementation of Sustainability Projects, energy management, water preservation, fossil fuels, and conducting energy audits.

·      Certified Lead Auditor on 50001, preferably.

·      Experience with energy management systems, including building management systems (BMS), preferably.

·      Expertise in local/state/Federal regulatory requirements related to Sustainability, preferably.


Skills/ Knowledge requirements:

·      Advanced English

·      ISO 50001, ISO 14064 Standards, preferably

·      International Legislation on Sustainability (Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement, UN Global Sustainability Goals), preferably

·      Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, such as LED lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, and renewable energy systems.

·      General understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability, preferably.

·      Good problem-solving skills and knowhow of problem-solving tools like, root cause analysis, 5-why analysis

·      Good analytical skills.

·      Be self-motivated and able to motivate staff at all levels.

·      Able to effectively interact and communicate at all levels in the organization.
