?Our DXC IT Outsourcing services provide customers with reliable, optimized, and secure mission-critical systems at a lower cost. We manage and simplify existing infrastructure investments and provide a way forward to modernize IT, including moving portions to the cloud.


About this role:


The General Services role at DXC Technology involves escorting vendors and customers within secured spaces and data center white spaces, ensuring compliance with security policies. The position includes communication tasks such as interfacing with requestors via various channels, participating in technical reviews and troubleshooting calls, and communicating in English both written and verbal. The role covers site access management, documentation, reporting, basic data center planning, and adherence to service management processes. The Inventory Management Services part focuses on tracking, managing, and auditing IT equipment within the data center. The Media Administration Services include physical media activities, tracking, labeling, and shipping/receiving of media and peripherals. Hands & Eyes Services involve the installation, removal, basic configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of IT equipment, along with cabling services, patch management, and documentation. The comprehensive role ensures the smooth operation, management, and support of DXC's data center infrastructure.


What You'll Do: 


  • Communicate proficiently with DXC Technology personnel, vendors and customers within secured spaces and data center white spaces per DXC Technology security policies.
  • Move, mount, and install servers within Data Center.
  • Inventory management as well as shipping and receiving for new and required equipment.
  • Basic testing and troubleshooting for equipment.
  • Work on rotating 12-hour shifts 4 days on and 3 days off. 1 month during day shifts, 1 month during night shifts.


Who you are:


  • Basic to intermediate reading and writting English level required only.
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts including day/nights including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to utilize a pallet jack/forklift as well as specific tools for server mounting within critical Data Center areas.
  • Solid working knowledge of data center environments and infrastructure, network and telecommunications protocols and platforms, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move 25kg worth of equipment.


In addition to the basic qualifications noted above, we find that individuals who are successful in this role have:


  • Ability to work with the Microsoft Office suite and tools proficiently.
  • Experience working in a Data Center environment.
