Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue and operating goals for the automotive Aftermarket and Heavy-Duty channels. This position will work with the Sales Director to implement strategies related to their specific customer account(s). He/She supports tactical activities as directed by their manager and is responsible for achieving sales goals and operational tasks.


The role is responsible for business planning, forecasting, sales (pre-selling/acquisition/maintaining current business), and any other account management activities, such as leading after-market commercial negotiations, and supporting and/or managing customer relations and will work with Sales Agencies to lead, motivate and train to foster growth for new account openings and achieving growth targets.


Education and Experience:

Must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in the fields of Engineering, Business or Marketing, or equivalent. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

12+ years of successful experience in the Automotive Aftermarket with knowledge in both automotive and Heavy-Duty market channels.

 5+ years' experience in selling/ representing Rotating Electrical products (i.e. starters/alternators).

 3+ years' experience in Project Management (direct or indirectly as project leader or project member).


Experience:

Working with specific aftermarket Independent Warehouse Distributors, Buying Groups, and major Automotive Retailers.

Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:

Interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication are required, and presentation skills are a must including the ability to conduct proper customer contact interactions that drive revenue.

Exhibits the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, including other nationalities and cultures, Spanish speaking is a plus.

Ability to conduct multiple tasks under time-driven parameters.

Demonstrates the ability to forecast volume/revenue, market demand, and upcoming projects.

Demonstrate efficiency by using Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Adapts to change, including the market, products, and internal company initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate acquisitions and account management of assigned customers.

Support global strategies to maintain and grow the automotive vertical and key accounts, occasionally assisting Sales Teams in other regions (i.e., sharing information, conducting joint reviews, etc.).

Meet and exceed regional revenue targets.

Participate in regional and global key account and new business meetings as needed.

Frequently attend customer-requested meetings and attend Trade shows as requested.

Manage and facilitate customer(s) relationships.

Understand and communicate business objectives to internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in ensuring the customer is paying on time within contract guidelines.

Forecast Sales from an annual and 5-year forecast and provide detailed reasoning for changes.

Presents information and responds to questions from management, associates, suppliers, and customers.

Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion and tact.

Listen and respond effectively to customer questions; resolve customer problems to the customer's satisfaction.

Respect all internal and external customers; use a team approach when communicating with customers.

Maintain customer satisfaction through monitoring and follow-up of respective customer KPIs.

Anticipate problems, gather information; weigh alternatives against objectives, and arrive at reasonable decisions.

Work to eliminate all processes that do not add value.

Follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data.

Negotiate certain terms (Local Pricing, Delivery Terms, Payment Terms).

Full-Time Position Up to 50% Travel (not including local customer sites)

The associate must be able to travel throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.
