Descripción

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs within an organization.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and environmental conservation practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement ergonomic solutions, promote wellness initiatives, and mitigate occupational health risks.
  • Stay updated on relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices, and communicate changes and updates to the organization.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, participating in inspections, audits, and permit applications.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, and coordinate drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.


Required Skills

  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train employees, facilitate discussions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
  4. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  5. Ability to lead and influence others, fostering a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
  6. Proficiency in using computer software and systems to manage and track safety data and information.


Required Qualifications



  1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management, in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  3. Experience in developing and implementing safety training programs and managing safety committees.
  4. Strong understanding of risk management principles and incident investigation techniques.
  5. Ability to travel occasionally to various company locations or sites as needed.
