A Piping Designer has to be able to perform with some supervision: Piping designs, layout, sketches, isometrics, general arrangement (plot plan), piping arrangement, 3D equipment modeling etc. The Mid-Level Piping Designer should have experience in engineering projects, be highly technically competent and familiar with current tools/programs/software, and CAD practices. Responsibilities Prepare piping designs, pipe rack, hot small-bore piping, hot large bore piping and critical systems including layout, design sketches, isometrics, general arrangement (plot plan), piping arrangement, etc. Utilizes industry standards to complete assignments that are large and/or complex. Advises others on proper application of industry standards. Able to propose various options including communicating the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Performs shop drawing reviews, providing mark-ups, and specifying action. Requirements Experience in 3D modeling (PDS, PDMS, SmartPlant, etc.) drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart Plant P&ID, etc.) and model review software (SmartPlant review, Navisworks, Bentley viewer, etc.) Understanding of the contract, including components of the document that apply to other disciplines. Experience in conceptual design, basic and detail engineering for EPC projects.
