C.A.T. North America, founded in 1978, is a premier trucking company servicing all North America with its nine divisions and over 25 terminals. Our transportation solutions cover a broad range of needs, including intra-Canada, US-Canada cross-border, US domestic, Mexico North and Southbound. Red Logistics is one of our divisions located in Monterrey, Mexico, providing domestic and cross-border transportation between the Mexico and United States and also administrative support to all of our divisions. On the road for over 35 years, we are now looking for our new Controller. Reporting directly to the corporate finance department, the controller's challenge will be to ensure the prosperity and sustainability of Red Logistics.



The Controller manages accounting records and is responsible for the production of financial reports. The controller oversees all employees involved in the accounting process, including accounts, receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.


Qualifications

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Five years or more of related experience required. ( Logistics preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
