Essential Job Functions (Roles & Responsibilities)

1. Design, automate, and maintain and debug test automation scripts/suites.

2. Develop test design matrix, test cases, test data and for Test Automation.

3. Execute automated tests change and regression test, report test results using testing tool.

4. Maintain Test Automation Suites for GUI and/or API software i.e., from analysis through 

implementation.

5. Participate in testing, analysis, and communication of results with project team, test manager and 

testing team.

6. Ensure best practices and standards are followed; maintain and oversee proper documentation.

7. Work under supervision; communicate with management on the status of tasks and projects and 

initiate requests to escalate problems, when needed.

8. Perform other testing duties as allocated by the Test Manager including manual testing where 

appropriate.

Skills

You will need to have:

• Qualification or demonstrated experience in Software Development or equivalent.

• Have strong software development skills with at least 1-2 years of Programming OR in Test 

Automation Development. 

• Experience in Java programming languages or equivalent. Open to Java Developers looking to 

switch role over to Test Automation Engineers.

• Experience in functional and non-functional testing e.g., system/integration testing, regression testing, 

performance/load testing and API testing.

• Excellent communication skills in addressing both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, including defect tracking and 

reporting.

• Ability to think logically, to understand business processes, to analyze problems and identify logical 

solutions to customers.

• Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels, motivate others and change

people's attitudes when necessary.

• Ability and experience working with both technical and non-technical teams to devise solutions for 

business.
