Descripción

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations, promote a safe working environment, and minimize risks to employees, the community, and the organization.


Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental protection, occupational health, and workplace safety, ensuring the organization's compliance with applicable laws and standards.
  2. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and programs to promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
  3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace through assessments, inspections, and incident investigations, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
  4. Training and Education: Coordinate and conduct EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors to ensure awareness of safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and emergency procedures.
  5. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for incidents such as fires, chemical spills, natural disasters, and medical emergencies, and conduct drills and exercises to test preparedness and response capabilities.
  6. Environmental Management: Oversee environmental management programs, including waste management, pollution prevention, hazardous materials handling, and emissions control, to minimize environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.
  7. Health and Wellness Programs: Implement initiatives to promote employee health, wellness, and well-being, such as ergonomic assessments, wellness campaigns, and access to health resources and services.
  8. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents, analyze root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
  9. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities, incidents, inspections, training, permits, and regulatory compliance, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
  10. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies, community organizations, and other relevant parties to address EHS concerns, build relationships, and promote best practices in environmental and occupational health and safety.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (preferred).
  • English Advanced
  • Professional certification in EHS (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) is advantageous.
  • Several years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing, automotive industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
