Materials Manager
The Materials Manager leads the procurement,materials, and inventory control functions for ITESA SIEMENS organization. Thisposition is responsible for managing our supply chain by building andmaintaining partnerships with commodity managers, S&OP, DistributionCenters, and suppliers Additionally, this role is the main point of contact forinventory availability and control; leads cycle-counts and physical inventory;and manages the logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
The Materials Manager analyzes and reacts toimprove overall productivity of supply and responsible for cost reduction withrespect to cost of goods sold and services rendered. This role collaborateswith the engineering, sales, operations, and accounting teams frequently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure theconsistent and adequate supply of product necessary for the business, based onlead times and sales forecasts.
• Correspondand communicate with suppliers for any updates regarding orders and/orproducts.
• Collaboratewith engineering to ensure product meets specifications and quality standards.
• Develop andmaintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers and partners.
• Lead WeeklyProduction meeting to review all incoming shipments and product needs.
• Monitor andmaintain acceptable inventory business wide.
• Coordinatesand manages physical cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
• Collaboratewith operations and sales teams to research and identify inventorydiscrepancies, in a timely manner.
• Thoroughunderstanding of purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control
• Ability toenter data accurately and efficiently into SAP system.
• Ability towork effectively with others and be participative as a team player.
• Must haveexcellent attention to detail.
• Mustdemonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chainmanagement, business, industrial engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in supplychain management, purchasing, inventory control, or a related field.
• Automotive/Metal Mechanic industryexperience preferred.
• SAP experience.
