US AMERICAN EMBASSY, PEACE CORPS MEXICO is looking for a Treasury and Accounts Payable Coordinator


The Peace Corps is an independent US Government Agency located in the City of Queretaro that provides trained Volunteers for countries requesting assistance around the world. The Peace Corps promotes peace and friendship by contributing to capacity building and projects that are hands on, grassroots driven, and sustainable. We work for the wellbeing and prosperity of vulnerable populations through the collaboration of professional American Volunteers.

The Treasury and Accounts Payable Coordinator is a full-time position based in Queretaro, under the direct supervision of the Director of Management and Operations. Provides support to all Peace Corps Staff, Volunteers, Trainees and vendors in general assuming legal responsibility for all payments and working independently. This position requires a very organized person, consistent critical judgment, solid skills in customer service, attention to detail and thorough knowledge and interpretation of Peace Corps regulations and policies.


The Treasury and Accounts Payable Coordinator is mainly responsible for the correct disbursement of funds for all approved cash payments. Also responsible for the verification and processing of all payments, cash, electronic funds transfers, and Volunteer payments. As the Treasury Coordinator this position will be responsible of the preparation of weekly replenishment vouchers and requests for reimbursement; ensures appropriate levels of cash flow at all times, and monitors cash payments, making sure that there is always cash available for any unexpected situation. Supports PC Staff giving them authorized interim travel advances for in country and international travel. Reviews Staff Travel Reimbursement Vouchers for accuracy and compliance with PC regulations.


MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS


  • Mexican citizenship or foreign citizen with valid Mexican work visa.
  • Valid Mexican driver's license and the ability to drive vehicles in all road conditions and highways.
  • Selected candidate will be required to have a background security investigation by the US Embassy. This requirement can take 2 months after candidate has been selected.
  •  The selected candidate will need to have a general medical examination to drive vehicles and pass a practical driving exam.


Required Qualifications Knowledge and Skills

Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or general Administration or related field is required.

Prior Work Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible prior experience in accounts payable and treasury management is required, or equivalent experience of at least three years in administrative, financial, or accounting duties.

 Language Proficiency:

1.  English Level III (Professional Working Proficiency), applicants will be required to provide a certificate level of English.

2.  Spanish Level IV (Full Professional Proficiency) is required.

English and Spanish level will be also tested on resume, job application and during interview.


Knowledge: Solid experience in Microsoft office including excel, word and PowerPoint, this will be tested during interview.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer services oriented, attention to detail, well organized and high ethical standards. Must have proven ability to work under pressure under different competing priorities, and ability to travel within Mexico when required.
