Weir Role Name: Digital I&A (Implementation and Adoption) Engineer

Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The Digital I&A Engineer (Implementation and Adoption) position presents a

challenging and exciting opportunity to work with the latest IIoT technology and

coordinate the implementation and integration of the Weir Synertrex IIoT solution.

As an experienced professional, you will utilise your expertise in electrical and

automation commissioning to ensure the successful configuration,

commissioning, and testing of IIoT systems. The role entails providing both

remote and on-site field support for the installation, commissioning, and

troubleshooting of the Weir Synertrex IIoT solution. Additionally, you will be

responsible for managing the integration of the IIoT solution with customer DCS

systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing the

integration of PLCs with DCS systems and experience in providing exceptional

technical support. Furthermore, the role will involve driving the adoption of Weir's

Synertrex Digital Solutions across the globe.

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

Including but not limited to:

Responsible for the implementation and commissioning Weir's Synertrex

solution providing support both remotely and in person globally for Weir

product lines under the digital portfolio.

· Project Coordination: Facilitate effective collaboration among key

stakeholders to ensure the seamless implementation of digital solutions.

This involves coordinating project activities, managing timelines, and

maintaining clear communication channels.

· Project coordination. Ensure that projects are properly coordinated with

key stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of Digital solutions.

· Take ownership of commissioning processers from development teams,

documenting and applying operational excellence to improve processors.

· Go to expert for the resolution of hardware faults related to Wireless &

Wired condition monitoring and process optimization solutions.

· Resolving IIoT field issues in a timely manner reporting progress to key

stake holders and implementing measures to reduce the likelihood of

reoccurrence.

· Manage Implementation and integration of Synertrex applications in, but not

limited to DCSs, PLC based control systems where includes configuration,

and evaluation and design for implementing special customer requirements.

· Manage testing and commissioning industrial control systems. Field

communication buses, control programs, development environments for

programming, diagnostics, and configuration.

· General knowledge on IIoT platforms platform such as but not limited to

Aveva PI, XMPro etc. Perform analytics inside the Weir Synertrex

infrastructure (PI XMPRO etc.)

· Support constant development to improve robustness and capability of

Synertrex platform.

· Solving any data or performance issues related to IIoT platform and data

sources.

· Understanding of managing a service to customers at agreed levels of

service and quality standards, including the tools, methods and procedures

used in the service.

· Support and drive the adoption of digital solutions globally.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education & Experience: Degree / master's in, Electrical, E & C, Mechatronics

or Automation Engineering or similar with 6 or more years of experience

Technical Skills:

· Hands-on experience with OT to IT integration to Manage IIoT Integration

with customer DCS. Study the connectivity and integrate it from on-

premises gateway, DCS to the cloud.

· Practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, electronics engineering

design analysis and failure analysis.

· Sound knowledge and experience in configuration of systems (embedded

+ wireless + networking + SCADA + IIoT + ADC)

· Network configuration and diagnostics and troubleshooting such as setting

up IP addresses, network segmentation and segregation; determining

network performance and diagnosing communication issues in both wired

and wireless.

· Must have knowledge of communication protocol like RS 232, TCP/IP,

Modbus TCP, Profibus DP, Ethernet IP, CAN, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.

· Knowledge over Electrical & instrumentation devices. Should have broad

exposure in Measuring Devices and knowledge of sensors both analogue

and digital.

· Direct work and high experience with Studio 5000, TIA Portal and

TwinCAT, testing and commissioning industrial control systems.

· Experience in developing and managing dashboards and reports in any IIoT

popular platforms.

· Knowledge of data architecture, data modelling, data mapping, data

analysis, and data visualisation.

· Working knowledge XMPro, Aveva PI.
