We are seeking a highly motivated and competent Sustainability Project Engineer to lead our sustainability initiatives across all areas of the company, including marketing, sourcing, operations, and engineering. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with our sustainability programs in new products, as well as documenting and continuously improving our operational processes in line with corporate sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the implementation of sustainability programs in new products, ensuring alignment with corporate goals established for 2035.
• Analyze new products from a sustainability perspective, assessing their impact compared to previous products or substitutes, and actively participating in the new product development process.
• Track and analyze greenhouse gas emissions, as well as consumption and emissions at operational plants, documenting and effectively reporting results.
• Collaborate closely with operational plants, including production and sustainability areas, to monitor and continuously improve environmental performance in line with established standards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements and regulations in all company operations, identifying and addressing potential risks or non-compliance.
• Work closely with marketing and communications teams to identify and communicate risks related to hazardous substances in our products, as well as actively promote our sustainability initiatives.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create LCIs utilizing the resulting in-house data and purchased external datasets to model the environmental impact (footprint) of products on a SKU-specific

2. Create EPDs from the existing LCI work for K&B products as per the Customer demand and Sustainability Strategy. Also update them on Transparency website on a timely basis.

3. Closely work with ILFI (external) for drafting and managing Declare labels for K&B and update them on Transparency website on a timely basis.

4. Develop and improve existing tools and channels that communicate product transparency of K&B products in a manner that enhances value for both Kohler and its

5. Work with Marketing & Communications team to update the transparency labels on Kohler website, FAQ pages for customers and marketing team.

6. Respond to customer requests for special forms and for large projects and review sales force for new requests and transfer information into our tracker spreadsheet. Create response templates, pull info from SAP etc.

7. Communicate with the team regarding customer requests with a high level of knowledge relating to our capabilities.

8. Advocate for sustainability as an innovation and product/brand value tool through direct interaction with channel and channel and digital marketing, training, and support of Kohler sustainability communications

9. Update memberships/ licenses and contracts related to Product Transparency on a timely basis.

10. Create, implement, record training for sales team, Co-ops, and contractors.

Perfil del candidato

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science/ Environmental Engineering/ Other Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years related experience in product transparency document generation, or equivalent combination of education and
• Knowledge of Product Category Rules (PCR), Environmental Produce Declarations (EPD) and LEED, BREEAM and ISO standards.

Preferred:

1. S. degree with emphasis in one of the following areas: Environmental, Materials, Communications, or any related disciplines.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a process/manufacturing
3. Experience in working with cross-functional product and communications team and teams from different geographies.

Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience in roles related to sustainability and engineering projects, preferably in industrial settings.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams in all areas of the company.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability, as well as practical experience in their implementation in specific projects.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve environmental and operational performance.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and support operations in other parts of the world, if necessary.
• Academic degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Engineering, or a related field.
