Experience and Background

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in a Health & Safety Management position.
• At least five years of experience in a similar risk profile manufacturing process (experience of furnaces, hazardous materials, machinery and equipment, fire and or explosion risks, etc.).
• Knowledgeable in Mexican Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
• Demonstrable track record in creating or delivering behavioural-based safety programs.
• More than five Years' experience in conducting accident and incident investigations.
• The presence to communicate & influence at the highest level.
• Previous experience of dealing with environmental, health and safety matters in a fast-moving dynamic environment and be comfortable conducting risk assessments across all areas of a varied business.
• Previous experience managing the Security area
• Proficient in MS Office; advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred
• Fluent English language

Principales responsabilidades del puesto

Job Purpose:

Propose and execute the strategy to strengthen the culture of safety and health conservation in the site aligned with the company's policy, management system and applicable legal requirements, for the prevention of risk behaviors and conditions, as well as the mitigation of incidents that contribute to the creation of a culture of safety and prevention of environmental pollution.

You will be responsible for delivering business behavioral safety programs and ensuring that corporate requirements are executed to plan, working through others and collaboration are key behaviors that will ensure the success of this role.

Main Responsabilities: 

• Establish, execute, evaluate and provide feedback to the site EHS strategy, as well as obtain commitment from the site leadership team to ensure the results of the strategy.
• Strengthen the safety and hygiene culture on site, monitoring and evaluating results to continually improve, in order to promote a safe and healthy environment.
• Establish the strategy that will lead the site to meet the goals related to sustainability and the environment.
• Establish the strategy regarding Property Security that allows eliminating or reducing risks of damage to facilities and, above all, to people.
• Establish the strategy to reduce and control accidents on the construction site.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to applicable laws regarding Safety and Hygiene, Environment and Site Operation, avoiding deviations that put business continuity at risk.
• Prepare, deploy and ensure the execution of contingency response plans, in their stages: preventive, contingency care and post-contingency recovery; in order to avoid or reduce risks that affect business continuity.
• It is responsible for compliance with the legal requirements applicable to contractors operating on the site, for which it will issue and ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, regulations, etc.
• It is responsible for establishing links with neighboring companies with the objective of establishing mutual aid actions in the event of contingencies and promoting improvements that benefit the environment and the community.
• It is responsible for carrying out diagnoses of real or potential risks in the areas of its competence, proposing corrective actions and improvements; Likewise, it is responsible for presenting reports on the actions carried out and the results obtained at the work and corporate level.
• It will present reports in English on the results of the strategy, accident and energy indicators, among others. In relation to the corporate initiatives that are issued, it will plan the execution on site, deploy and measure the impact, periodically presenting the results of said actions.
• He is responsible for leading the on-site EHS team as well as the development of his collaborators.
