Overview:

A Stamping Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of metal stamping processes in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and project management capabilities to ensure high-quality, efficient production of stamped metal parts.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Develop and design stamping dies, tooling, and fixtures to produce metal parts according to specifications.
  • Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for new or modified stamping tools.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate design concepts.


Process Optimization:

  • Analyze and improve existing stamping processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and control plans.


Production Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for stamping operations on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues related to die performance, part quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.


Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in metal stamping or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with stamping press operation, die maintenance, and tooling design.


Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
