POSITION SUMMARY The Packaging designer supports New Product Development and product sustaining tasks for the company's Global Rack & Edge Thermal products. RESPONSIBILITIES -Provides technical support and manage the packaging development process (Creation of packaging designs, prototype development, specification and testing). - Develop alternative design concept prototypes and CAD drawings using design so??ware. - Coordinate the development and verification ISTA testing of alternative designs. - Create/update BOMs, submit engineering change requests and release the revised designs in Oracle PLM cloud. - Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group related to design that optimize for packaging and overall cost. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science or equivalent experience. Industrial designer Packaging Engineer REQUIREMENTS: 1-3 years of engineering product development or support experience. Packaging design experience Working knowledge of Test standards and test-methods. Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures. Basic mechanical CAD tools experience in CREO is a plus Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically. Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams. Proficient in English
