The payroll specialist is responsible for processing payroll & managing the employee benefits. This includes checking the accuracy of time & attendance data, processing wage garnishments, and reviewing calculations to ensure precise payment. In charge of answering employee inquiries and concerns.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Check time & attendance data to ensure accuracy and provide feedback to operations team.
  2. Compiles and sort inputs for payroll processing, such as worked hours/days, payroll deductions and garnishments, bonuses, incentives, and other applicable.
  3. Request and ensure that new hires are properly registered on vendor's payroll system.
  4. Ensure employees' information is updated with the vendor.
  5. Request last payment calculation reports to the vendor and ensure the precise payment of leave accruals.
  6. Analize and respond to employees' inquiries regarding paycheck amounts, deductions, direct deposits, and other concerns.
  7. Manage employee benefits by enrolling employees on medical insurance plans, enrolling new hires in Cash advantage program, and issuing food vouchers cards.
  8. Assist with maintaining accurate records such as payroll records, terminations, saving funds, and others applicable.
  9. Assist in the calculation of one-time payroll processes, such as Christmas bonus, profit sharing and saving funds withdrawals.
  10. Provide accurate information to new hires during the onboarding process.

Minimum Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll or a similar role is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience with IMSS/INFONAVIT, IDSE and SUA is required.
  • Experience with Local Payroll taxes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel is required.
  • Experience with TRESS system, and hourly payroll is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical ability to manage complex calculations and auditing tasks.
  • Possess strong customer service, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (team building, positive thinking, can-do attitude, job flexibility).
