Utopia Design, a real estate developer specializing in luxurious hospitality assets, is seeking an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) mechanical engineering expert. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6 years' experience in engineering design development for residential buildings, five-star hotels, villas, and other luxurious hospitality projects within a design consultancy or general contractor's office. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who will guide third-party designers, lead spatial coordination of mechanical systems, and support in-house architects in ensuring the highest level of user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the highest level of user experience is embedded in the architectural concept throughout all stages of design and construction development, providing expert guidance to the in-house team and external designers.
- Ensuring seamless integration of the initial design intent by proposing the most efficient, modern, and optimized engineering systems, principles, and algorithms.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Collaborate on a daily basis with the internal design office, client representatives, local designers, and third-party consultants.
- Work closely with the maintenance office to determine best practices.
- Research materials and equipment markets in the US, Caribbean, and South America, and participate in negotiations with suppliers.
- Lead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Oversee the work of designers, consultants, and contractors, and review their design submissions.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of corporate design guidelines.
Requirements - graduated civil engineer with a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- 5-8+ years experience, most of which will be in design gained within a consultancy environment
- 2 years minimum of luxury hospitality projects involvement
- at least two completed complex construction projects from concept adaptation stage to the completion
- applied knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks
- English and Spanish knowledge - professional (C1)
- Capability to work regular (9-17) working hours in UTC-3 or UTC±0 timezone
