Materials & Distribution Associate

Description -

This role is responsible for inventory control and materials management, involving tasks like shipping, receiving, and tracking order details, supporting intermediate-level transactional processes, and following detailed documentation to ensure inventory accuracy. The role identifies and address process anomalies, collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow, and works with warehouse and logistics partners to maintain timely product delivery. The role contributes to continuous improvement projects, change controls, and quality systems.

Responsibilities
• Performs varied and general tasks involved in controlling inventory, shipping, receiving, storing and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment (e.g. movement of materials through the use of pallet jacks, daily collection of appropriate statistics, routine maintenance, etc.).
• Supports intermediate-level transactional processes that require independent judgment.
• Tracks material order details like amount on order, amount received, account number used, and due date for items yet to be received.
• Follows detailed documentation and instructions to execute a variety of process-oriented tasks to support inventory control and materials management activities.
• Transacts material movement through the ERP system, ensuring work processes are in place that facilitate inventory accuracy and proper management of ERP system activity.
• Identifies basic to complex level functional process anomalies and seeks guidance for resolution.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless material flow and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Supports continuous improvement projects, change controls, and quality systems as they relate to materials management and inventory management.
• Supports the training of new hires; assists in creating training materials and supporting the facilitation of training programs.

Education & Experience Recommended
• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-6 years of related work experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
