This position plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the demand planning activities within the organization. They are responsible for forecasting product demand, analyzing historical data, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate demand projections. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting: Utilize statistical models, market trends, and historical data to forecast product demand accurately. Data Analysis: Analyze sales patterns, customer behavior, and other relevant data to identify demand trends and outliers. Collaborative Planning: Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to gather insights and align demand forecasts with business objectives. Demand Planning Processes: Develop and implement demand planning processes, including demand sensing, consensus forecasting, and scenario planning. Inventory Optimization: Optimize inventory levels by balancing supply and demand, minimizing stockouts, and reducing excess inventory. Performance Monitoring: Track forecast accuracy, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuously improve demand planning processes. Communication: Effectively communicate demand forecasts, assumptions, and insights to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional activities related to demand planning, including new product launches, promotions, and seasonal fluctuations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains within the demand planning function. Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks associated with demand variability, supply chain disruptions, and market dynamics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English and Spanish.

Excellent project management skills


Ability to analyze detail and perform structured decision-making on a daily basis.

Experienced in the use of standard Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for management reporting and presentation.

Strong knowledge of SAP or other similar enterprise wide MRP system.

High degree of initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.

General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and techniques.

Will be required to regularly apply scheduling, planning and control principles and concepts in execution of duties.

Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of large to very large scope and complexity, often creating or revising company or departmental policies in the process.

Ability to work well with, and in many cases lead, others in a cross-functional team environment.

Must be capable of managing several priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.

Must have ability to understand financial impact of decisions.

Must demonstrate hands on experience in implementing and/or using ERP and related computer systems and technologies in areas of Demand Planning, MPS, RCCP, MRP, SFC, APS, Logistics and Inventory Management Experienced in Project Management techniques/planning and managing launches of new products a plus.

Experienced in working in single and multiple Manufacturing Plant and Distribution Warehouse environments.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in field relevant to job description (e.g. Operations, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering), or equivalent job experience.

Minimum 5 years experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management roles.

APICS (or other as appropriate) certified, or certification in progress and actively pursuing.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and extract actionable insights.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of best practices in demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.

Familiarity with industry trends, market dynamics, and demand planning methodologies.
