As a Wiring Harness Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing and managing the lifecycle of vehicle wiring harnesses from inception to implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, an ability to manage complex projects, and active participation in all phases of product development and standardization.

The responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the lifecycle of automotive parts from development to final implementation, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and deliverables.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency between parts/drawings and models, adhering to the "Model is Master" philosophy
  • Own and lead change management documentation processes.
  • Validate necessity of changes in vehicle design and oversee first piece and production sign-off activities
  • Own and manage engineering issue processes including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Actively participate in launch activities at assembly plants and support vehicle/component DFMEA, DVP, FO, and Design Rule activities.
  • Review and validate supplier's DFMEA and DVPR
  • Engage in packaging and design review meetings
  • Update and maintain system databases and support wiring harness complexity documentation
  • Contribute to the production of owner's manual images and support standardization across components and documents
  • Develop and architect the overall vehicle harness structure, ensuring it meets all technical and regulatory standards
  • Investigate and implement simplification and innovation in harness design, performing benchmarking as necessary
  • Propose adjustments to electrical architectures to optimize cost and feasibility


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering
  • Very strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in automotive design, specifically with wiring harnesses
  • Thorough knowledge of wiring harness manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical architecture, including schematics and 3D/2D harness design
  • Proficiency in CAD design software, preferably Teamcenter


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JIRA Management Software
  • Experience with AI tools
