We are looking for a Senior Accountant. This position reports directly to Finance Management. Produces timely and accurate reports and subsidiary ledgers with little supervision. Provides required financial information to upper management. Responds to requests for financial information and answers questions as they arise.
Additional key duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Monthly close process
- Prepares reconciliations of assigned LPCs accounts to determine accuracy of general ledger balances.
- Reports reconciliation findings and makes oral and written presentations to management when reconciliations identify a material weakness, discussing deficiencies and recommending corrective action to improve operations and reduce cost. Develops, communicates, and follows through on recommendations
- Reviews financial statements for the assigned LPCs and is able to provide management with detailed variance analysis.
- Prepares specific journal entries and maintains supporting documentation for those entries.
- Prepares month-end financial statements for the assigned LPCs and performs the “full cycle” accounting close.
- Provides back-up and support to both the accounting team and financial analysis team where applicable.
- Assists in the development of annual financial and operational budgets and forecasts.
Audit support
- Assists with first drafts of financial statements and footnote schedules for the annual audit
- Audit support: prepares various complex audit schedules and rollforwards, assists in fielding auditor inquiries and client prepared audit request schedules
Bond compliance and debt accounting
- Prepares and posts monthly and quarterly bond continuing disclosure packets
- Prepares period debt entries and schedules (including debt allocations, interest allocations and quarterly reconciliations)
- Prepares monthly investment entries and schedules (for bond funds and all other investment portfolios) including annual investment rollforward schedules
Regulatory Reporting
- Coordinates annual DSS reporting requirements
- Assists with other regulatory projects or audits as needed
To be successful in this role you would have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration required
- CPA and/or MBA is desirable
- 5-8 years of applicable accounting experience
- Experience with reconciliation of all types of balance sheet accounts as well as experience analyzing revenue and expense accounts
- Experience in public accounting and/or private industry accounting is a plus
- Non-profit experience is a plus
- Advanced English
- US GAAP experience
