Position Summary 


The position of Manager, Carrier Procurement and Pricing is key to our growth plans at C.R. England. This manager will recruit, measure and manage relationships with our Mexican carrier partners through data-driven decision-making and freight awards. Our carrier partners are an extension of our operation and are expected to fullfill our mission: To Deliver Excellence to our team members, customers, and community. This manager will also design and implement innovative pricing strategies that, while ensuring best-in-class service, optimize purchased transportation costs and maximize profitability in our freight network


  • Energy focus in this role: 60% pricing, 40% carrier management
  • Develop and Implement pricing strategies in collaboration with our Corporate Network Management and Pricing teams.
  • Develop and Implement RFP processes to determine carrier lane assignment. Optimize profitability. Ensure carrier compliance.
  • Continuously measure and evaluate carrier lane assignments to optimize profitability while ensuring excellent service.
  • Develop and Utilize data analytics and KPIs to measure and communicate carrier performance (i.e. Scorecarding).
  • Negotiate favorable terms, rates, and contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with carriers to optimize both operational and financial results.
  • Provide regular reporting to management on carrier performance, market trends, and cost metrics.
  • Continuously measure and evaluate current carriers and on-board new carriers based on performance, capacity, and market need.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments (Operations, Sales, Network Mgmt, Finance) to resolve any issues of concern with particular carriers.
  • Communicate with carriers on a regular basis to understand their capabilities, constraints, and market conditions.
  • Create a cadence of accountability through monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews of Scorecards.
  • Implement appropriate corrective action plans to ensure carrier compliance with expectations.
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected events or outages that may impact capacity and service.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to customer service and sales.
  • Fluent English.
