Position Summary 

 

The Sales Manager – Mexico Region is responsible for securing new business into and out of Mexico for C.R. England's OTR, Intermodal or brokerage divisions. The customer base for this position includes all customers shipping freight across the U.S./Mexico border, with strong emphasis on the Laredo border crossing. This position is tasked with developing strong customer relationships, selling logistics solutions, and actively pursuing new business opportunities and being awarded new business. This position will also perform as a consultant and assistant to the U.S. Domestic sales team in increasing cross-border volumes within their existing accounts.  

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities   

  • Find new customers that ship into or out of Mexico, primarily via Laredo, and to understand their business needs and objectives, establish C.R. England as a credible and trustworthy business partner, and deliver the right service offerings and pricing solutions for their unique needs.  
  • Identify and develop a robust pipeline of opportunities to ensure revenue and volume growth. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop pricing and service solutions to support customers' needs. 
  • Identify obstacles and threats to growth and develop plans to mitigate and remove those barriers. 
  • Ongoing commitment management to ensure both C.R. England and customers consistently meet expectations regarding volume, revenue, service and price metrics 
  • Negotiate all pricing, including contract renewals and spot quotes. 
  • Organize and lead start up calls and regular check-ins with customers 
  • Set up new customers within C.R. England systems 
  • Execute pricing agreements or customer contracts 
  • Ensure accurate and timely rate publications. 
  • Work as the customer advocate with internal departments to facilitate resolution of issues related to billing, service, capacity, credit, claims, etc. 
  • Utilize numerous activity and performance measurements, including customer-specific scorecards and service metrics. 
  • Optimize traffic mix within your territory to balance between committed customer freight and broker traffic. 
  • Complete all required training assignments. 

 


 

Qualifications 

  • Bi-lingual fluency (Spanish/English) required 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation) 
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Adapt quickly to changing market conditions and priorities 
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of the transportation industry and familiarity with industry leaders and competitors 
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to maintain accountability for performance expectations 
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision 
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement 

 

Education, Experience & Skills 

  • BA/BS in Business, Operations Management or related field.   
  • Significant experience in a sales role, or related experience within the transportation industry 
  • Technical aptitude to successfully use Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as in-house CRM, dashboard analytics, expense reporting, and transportation management systems 

 

Other Requirements 

  • Frequent travel, up to 50-60% at times 
  • After hours or weekend work as required by customer demands and/or seasonality
