Position Summary

CR England is one of the largest carriers in North America and is a leading provider of shipping and logistics services with over 100 years in the industry.

As a Senior Accountant you will have responsibilities related to month-end closing, balance sheet account reconciliations and budget preparation and review.  This individual will work closely with other accounting team members to ensure established procedures are followed correctly.  Our ideal candidate will possess attention to detail along with accuracy, the ability to work alongside a multitude of personalities in a team-based environment, and a forward-thinking personality that will allow our ideal candidate to identify process improvement opportunities.? 

Responsibilities? 

• Ownership of balance sheet accounts and account reconciliations. 
• Regulate other balance sheet owners throughout the company. 
• Annual external audit support and preparation. 
• Financial statement preparation (P&L, BS and Cash Flow). 
• Preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts. 
• Month-end close, including preparation of journal entries. 
• Budget to actual variance analysis and presentation. 
• Analyzing current and past financial data, preparing reports and projections based on this analysis. 
• Coordinating with other members of the finance and accounting team to review financial information. 
• Special projects as directed by upper management. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications? 

• BS in Accounting, Finance or Business 
• Master of Accounting or MBA 
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant 
• 4+ years' experience in a corporate accounting environment 
• 4+ years' experience managing a general ledger  
• Public accounting experience preferred 
• Experience preparing financial statements (including Cash Flow Statement) 
• Strong understanding of US GAAP 
• Strong understanding of balance sheet account reconciliations 
• Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting process controls 
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred 
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 

English proficiency: from Advanced to Native speaker.
