We are an early-stage, venture-backed fintech that focuses on bringing affordable credit and financial services to small, informal business owners (micro-PYMEs) across LatAm - starting with Mexico. We have launched a group micro-credit product earlier this year and now are planning to launch a credit card and cash advance product, including a unique group solidarity feature. We are backed by top venture investors across the US and Mexico, and our co-founding team has spent their careers working in fintech and entrepreneurship. Requirements Responsibilities We are looking for a hard-working and highly entrepreneurial and experienced person to join as a founding team member. The company is launching a unique credit card product soon – and you will have leadership overseeing operations across this, including collections, customer service, and fraud. We are looking for someone who has significant demonstrated experience successfully managing a large consumer (or micro-business) credit card and loan portfolio. We are also looking for someone who is entrepreneurial and willing to roll up their sleeves, interview customers, and get into the low level details of customers and the business to achieve success. Your main responsibilities are to: Design and execute initiatives to improve collections Review and help approve loan and credit card applicants – including conducting fraud and credit review directly. Oversee customer service and maintain fast response times and high quality service Continually refine and adjust our credit policies and improve our fraud controls Conduct financial analysis and reporting across loan cohorts, track KPIs, and conduct other financial analysis to support the business Work closely with the CEO and MX country manager to apply modeling to other aspects of our business – especially acquisition and unit profitability Experience We are looking for a credit leader experienced in running sophisticated credit card programs. Our ideal candidate has: Successful track record of leadership roles in the credit card and lending industry– at leading credit card providers and/or fintechs in Mexico Significant experience in collections, fraud detection, customer service, and operations Expertise in financial analysis and modeling Fluent in business English & Spanish Ideally has previous work experience at a startup or other fast moving, highly entrepreneurial work environment Ideally well versed in leading statistical packages, financial analysis, as well as writing custom queries in SQL Ideally has experience leading or participating in debt fundraising in capital markets in the Mexico and/or the US Benefits Benefits In addition to working at an early stage fast moving startup - you will qualify for equity (stock option grants), competitive compensation and any bonuses, paid time off and holidays.
