Perform Product cost out opportunity in a target-oriented manner through VAVE methodology and cost analytics. Work with cross functional teams to identify the Products for cost out, analyze and execute the Cost reduction VAVE projects.

Descripción de la oferta

  • Perform cost out opportunity mining exercises by pareto analysis, competitor benchmarking and tear down etc.
  • Apply VAVE methodologies and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project.
  • Prepare alternate design concept models and drawings using Creo software. Coordinate the development and verification testing of modified designs.
  • Create BOMs and engineering change requests and release the revised designs in Windchill database and SAP.
  • Work with cross function team and make sure the product changes are in line with the codes and standards and customer value proposition.
  • Document all the activities as per ISO requirements and report to the Stake holders on recommended frequency
  • Executes complex engineering projects involving development of new products and changes to existing products including specification, concept, design, qualification, and verification of products and sub-assemblies.
  • Creates and maintains product specifications to meet Kohler and regulatory requirements.
  • Applies standard engineering tools such as CAD (CREO), Bills of Materials (SAP), GD&T, DFMEA and FEA.
  • Uses engineering tools to ensure robust design of products that meet market needs, cost targets, margin goals, code requirements.
  • Coordinates engineering activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, and contractors. Actively and effectively supports local plant activities.
  • As appropriate, mentors and guides staff to complete engineering sub-tasks to meet global business objectives.
  • Travel: Moderate travel to North American and international locations to meet with Kohler team members, guide project execution, and communicate project needs to Kohler and supplier facilities.

Hard Skills

  • Strong Analysis of Design Interfaces thorugh Tolerance Stack Analysis to guarantee design intend.
  • Moderate use of CREO CAD Software to Model and Inspect 3D files, elaborate Assemblies and 2D Drawings thorugh the use of ASME Y14.5M for GD&T.
  • Moderate Mechanical Design Fundamentals for Manufacturing processes such as Injection Molding, Casting, Machining as well as applied finished such as PVD and Platting.
  • Moderate understanding of the Materials Science in applications for Metal / Mechanics, Plastics and Elastometers.
  • Moderate on Design for Variability Applications, such as DFSS, Process Capability (CPK), etc.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACT

Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports to the Sr Staff Engineer-Product Engineering, K&B Mexico.
  • May supervise junior engineers or CAD designers.

Perfil del candidato

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum of 4 years related work experience in execution of cost reduction VA/VE, Continuous Design Improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solution to complex problems.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as brass and zinc casting, machining, and plastic injection molding.
  • Demonstrated expertise to apply DFx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical design, 3D Print.
  • Must have good communication to work globally with cross function teams.
  • Proficient in PTC Creo Software & MS Office tools
