Bergstrom Inc. & Mexico is the leading designer and manufacturer of cab climate systems for heavy-duty commercial trucks, off-highway machines and specialty vehicles.
Supervisor Quality:
Provide on-site Quality Engineering support of production processes
Identify and evaluate fundamental issues with product quality, providing strategy and direction for improvement in functional areas of manufacturing.
Conduct investigations to identify root cause of problems and implement effective corrective actions.
Use a data-driven approach to problem identification and resolution.
Lead on-going process improvements.
Issue Nonconforming Material Reports and Quality Alerts as necessary, ensuring effective corrective Actions are implemented in a timely manner.
Work with engineering and manufacturing to develop control plans and parameters to ensure high process reliability.
Provide regular reports and actively participate in engineering and production meetings.
Control of MRB and scrap areas.
Collects and checks the quality and content of the customer production approval documentation and is responsible for any submission to customer, as well as gaining customer approval
Audits APQP documents, such as DFMEA, PFMEA, process flowchart and production control plan and ensures responsible parties effectively close his/her findings.
Supports improvement of existing APQP system by giving feedback and input to process owners
Promotes quality culture by supervising and consulting on methods and tools. 8D training, root cause analysis, risk management, variant comparison
Collaborates in introducing and training of quality procedures.
Assists in the monitoring of development process performance indicators and implementation of process improvement.
Supports the implementation and training of quality standards and improvements to existing development process and sub-processes in engineering departments
Inspect product materials and electrical systems for defects and durability
knowledge in refrigeration and electrical systems is a plus.
Ability to analyze problems.
Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Familiar with SPC techniques for monitoring quality performance.
Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
Familiar APQP, PPAP, MSA, DMAIC,NPI, Lean six sigma, 8D, FMEA, 5s.
IATF / ISO9000 standards
Positive, proactive, Leadership, problem solving ability, technical and assertive communication, responsibility, teamwork, management of continuous improvement.
Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
