Manufacturing Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

a)    Overseeing production of goods or services to ensure that they meet company standards for quality

b)    Managing and developing a team of manufacturing workers, including hiring, firing, disciplining, and coaching employees as needed

c)    Implementing new technology to increase efficiency and productivity in manufacturing processes

d)    Reviewing budgets and financial reports to ensure that operations are profitable

e)    Conducting inspections of work sites to monitor progress on projects or to identify areas for improvement

f)     Developing and enforcing safety standards for employees to follow when working with machinery or other potentially dangerous tools or equipment

g)    Determining the best method of manufacturing a product based on cost and other considerations such as product quality or delivery timeframes

h)    Managing employee training to ensure that they are always using safe work practices and using the most efficient methods possible

i)     Establishing policies and procedures to ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently

j)     Monitor and improve production yields to determine trends and areas of improvement.

k)    Monitor operation and maintenance expenses and research ways to reduce cost while maintaining product quality and prevent downtime.

l)     Maintain target on time shipment of 100%. Control and improve the flow of production while maintaining product quality.

m)   Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.

n)    Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.

o)    Monitor manufacturing expenditures and reports variance on a monthly basis.

p)    Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.

q)    Maintain a positive working relationship with other departments in the organization

r)     Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program.

s)    Maintain physical security and access points to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Manufacturing Manager Qualifications:

•5 years of probed experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.

• Bachelors level degree in Engineering or another related field.

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data trends.

• Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing.

• Previous experience on budgeting/expense management with basic understanding of financial accounting practices.

• Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and implementation of safety rules and policies.
