Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design(or equivalent work experience in a design related field).
1-3 years of progressive experience in product design, injection mold tooling, material handling, packaging, project management, plastics design, preferably related to the automotive packaging industry. (is a plus)
2-3 years demonstrated proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) preferably Solidworks.
Knowledge
Engineering and Technical knowledge – Applying engineering principles, techniques, standards, procedures, and equipment needs to the design and development process as well as print interpretation.
Automotive Industry – knowledge returnable and expendable packaging. (is a plus)
Industrial Processes - Injection molding, thermoforming, and cast urethane manufacturing processes. (is a plus)
Materials - Plastics and urethanes for material selection (TPE, TPR, TPU, engineering plastics, microcellular foam, and cast urethanes). (is a plus)
Tooling - Injection mold tooling, thermoform tooling. (is a plus)
Fabrication – Basic understanding of steel fabrication, fixtures, and assembly processes.
Design – Effectively produce designs and manufacturing drawings utilizing SolidWorks.
Math - Calculating material shrink factors, determining part volumes, and part fit and tolerance calculations. (Fractions, decimal conversions, and English to Metric conversions).
English language – being able to express ideas and technical concepts written and verbally (must).
Computing - Experience using Microsoft Office and teams(Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project).
