Specialist – Supply Chain


?Your role at Baxter

The Specialist Supply chain is responsible for document solicitation, tracking and documenting to support Maquila Dora and Eu Mill spec importing regulations.   As well, they are responsible to support the Senior Specialist Supply Chain in areas of SAP training, auditing (to ensure business, SAP and SOX compliance), report writing and execution, day to day operations support in MM/PP and SRM modules, backfilling procurement analyst positions on an as needed basis, testing new SAP functionality, new plant set up, moves, closures and transfer of product lines, addressing financial type issues pertaining to costing, receiving, supplier quality issues and system clean up to ensure proper financial reporting pertaining to cash commitment

The Specialist Supply chain will maintain communication channels with suppliers, internal customers and the Purchasing/Accounting/Receiving Department as a whole.

What you'll be doing
  • Solicitation, Tracking and Documentation to support Maquila Dora and Eu Mill Spec import regulations.
  • Vendor master, purchasing, planning, receiving and accounts payable auditing to support Sox, business process and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Providing day to day business support In the areas of SAP MM/PP, SRM, Accounts Payable and Master data (Vendor, Material, PIR, and Source list.)   This includes providing trouble shooting skills to identify root cause(s) for errors found in the system or process.
  • Create training documentation, system set up to support training and execute training to all new buyers for those plants that utilize SAP. Training includes, Purchasing, MRP, Accounts Payable, Receiving, RMA, PTP and Master data.   
  • Creation, Executing, maintaining and Training on existing and newly created reports using query writing, Access, Excel etc.
  • Directly supports the Procurement and Accounts Payable teams in the execution of, education and transactions required in SAP to support Procure to Pay issues including but not limited to pricing, quantity, payment term, discount taken, extraneous fees, standard cost, and damaged freight.
  • Auditing In-transit shipments from sister sites to ensure transactions are done properly and timely to support accurate MRP messages across the organization and eliminate AP and AR Issues.  
  • As well, initiate and support ECR process for sister sites to ensure system accuracy in DC, OB materials and timely execution of changes.
  • Support and/or back-up other buying positions as needed to foster a group/team effort and provide consultation to groups supported to ensure minimal business risks.
  • As this backup or permanent support:
  • Acquire materials in economic order quantities that maximize value and minimize total cost (e.g. optimized inventory levels).
  • Assist in the annual standard costing process and provide price forecasts. Maintain standard costing program to ensure a positive PPV.
  • Create Purchase Orders, or Scheduling agreements /SIR Agreements
  • Train suppliers on Scheduling or SIR agreements and their outputs.
  • Monitor and disposition obsolete parts and supplier returns for rejected products and help resolve supplier's quality issues.
  • Request and process ECRs as appropriate.
  • Provide full purchasing support for those sites that do not have this support.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with all levels within Baxter; ensure that procurement processes meet the requirements of Baxter and suppliers with Total Quality Management (TQM) in mind.
  • Review/Analyze E&O materials to ensure disposal and maintain decisions are made in the companies best interest.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Lead projects including but not limited to Plant set up, closures, and movement of product lines.
  • Undertaking advanced analytics and driving process improvements managing a large complex business/systems model.


What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Technology, or related field required.
  • Minimum five years applicable work experience preferred.
  • Deep level of SAP ECC knowledge in areas of MM, PP, SRM, and MRP.
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management and Supplier Partnering desired.
  • Excellent Trouble shooting skills
  • Project management experience desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, related internal functions, external partners, and on project teams.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Access
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Meets deadlines and work under pressure, with limited supervision.
  • Well-organized and high level of attention to detail.
