First Brands Group is hiring a Packaging Engineer


We are looking for a Packaging Engineer that uses engineering knowledge and methods to design and develop packaging processes and equipment. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor. Also to set up packaging and product bill of materials for introduction of new parts and changes to existing parts, provides support to plant for packaging related activities, initiates and implements quality improvement and cost reduction projects.


Primary Responsibilities:

•Manage the packaging development process, (creation of packaging designs, prototype development and specification and testing)

• Work with cross functional teams on company initiatives including cost save projects, new customer launches and engineering changes to packaging equipment.

• Collaborates with Graphic Designers, marketing and customers on the creation and approval of packaging and labeling artwork. Once completed, responsible for accurately reviewing color(s), design, information, etc.

• Identify and lead cost reduction and process improvement projects relating to packaging components and innovation.

• Ensure regulatory and environmental compliance for all packaging materials including IATF subscriber standards.

• Perform and document product audits for quality for IATF purposes during production runs at the oil and air plants to ensure their accuracy.

• Print, check and correct labels for manufacturing or reworking of product using the Zebra printers. Requires carrying of labels from the floor to the printers, up to 25lbs.

• Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements And Minimum Education Level:

•Degree Packaging Engineer (Preferred) or Related

•2-3 Plus years of experience in Packaging

•Availability to Travel

•Artios CAD, Adobe Illustrator, CAPE
