We're looking for a Tax Specialist that'll report to the Head of Financial Control in Mexico. The challenge is to prepare and submit all the administrative tax filings. What you'll be doing

• Working closely with the tax compliance teams for direct and indirect tax as well as our external advisors
• Focusing on the development of automated calculations and tax filings for direct tax and indirect tax projects
• Extracting and utilizing data to support the preparation and submission of local tax returns
• Assisting with transfer pricing, tax optimization, and direct and indirect tax projects
• Supporting the team with data-driven tax forecasting and cash tax processes
• Helping to optimize tax spend globally
• Preparing local tax disclosures for statutory accounts

What you'll need

• 5+ years of post-qualified accounting experience in finance functions, preferably within a financial service company with cross-functional and multinational teams
• Expertise in corporation tax accounting, such as ledger postings, reconciliation to tax returns, and TP allocation (preferably in Mexico, but experience in LATAM will be considered)
• An accounting degree or CPA-equivalent
• The ability to extract and validate information from IT systems and build evidence-based tax audit trails, which can be aligned to the tax rules
• Knowledge of month-end tax accounting process
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to collaborate effectively with highly experienced business and tax professionals in a start-up atmosphere
• A self-starter attitude with impressive problem-solving and decision-making skills
• To work independently with a high level of initiative and judgement
• A flexible mindset and willingness to embrace change

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, regulated financial entity, and/or start-up
• Data analytics skills or experience with SQL, for example
• Experience with VAT tax accounting
