Senior Cost Accountant

Job Summary

Act as a business partner working with the procurement and logistics teams to proficiently oversee and manage financial responsibilities related to materials sourcing and freight control. The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in preparing various reports such as inflation dashboards, commodity forecasts, and financial summaries for cost savings and material spend. The analyst will also support all forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis for sourcing and freight activities across the organization.

Requirements:

Educational: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related.

English skills: B2+, or Above

Work experience: Cost accounting for materials and services, US GAAP, Budgeting and financial forecasting, SAP.

Experience in providing price costing/expense and sales review within a manufacturing environment is required.

Responsibilities:

·      Provide insights and updates to senior leadership in support of procurement and logistics initiatives.

·      Consolidate monthly analyses and reports for actual vs budget/prior year results and variance analysis.

·      Analyses could include daily/weekly/monthly KPI metrics, Inflation/spend dashboards, index sensitivity analysis, cost savings justifications, and other initiatives

·      Ensure the completion of month-end close activities.

·      Summarize and analyze the impact of pricing variances on the P&L; produce monthly purchase price variance bridge by category.

·      Support the financial budgeting/forecasting processes.

·      Partner with the cost accounting team to ensure precise calculations of material, freight, and duty within standard costs.

·      Work closely with the purchasing team to maintain accurate purchase info records.

·      Apply regression analysis techniques to project commodity movements and assess sensitivity to material pricing.

·      Foster alignment across all functions regarding inventory position and finished goods volume.

·      Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify and correct weaknesses.

·      Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the company's established standards.
