Basic Function: Perform, coordinate or provide leadership for a variety of complex financial activities. Conduct special assignments and investigations in direct support of senior managers. Initiate aggressive strategies to achieve cost savings and strengthen responsiveness to customers. Typical duties/responsibilities for finance may include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinate financial operations in accordance with sound business practices and financial standards, Company goals, objectives and profit plans. Monitor and report progress and completion of financial projects of major significance. Attend external-internal auditors (SAT, Social Security, Customs, EY, KPMG) Taxes filings including APA & Safe-Harbor Compliance with customs regulations and procedures (OEA, IMMEX, VAT) Ensure compliance of all Mexican Fiscal regulations and government (monthly and annual) Submission of government reports (Inegi and Economy) Working with Mexico and US regulations regarding labor and trade compliance. Support accounting, statutory and tax processes by providing complete and robust financial information. Responsibility for the day-to-day accounting of the Reynosa entity to ensure compliance with accounting principles. Ensuring accurate accounting of Balance Sheet and P&L. Ensure all HC costs are correctly posted, coded, and accrued of required on a monthly basis. Monitor compliance with tax laws and regulations to minimize future disputes. Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and court rulings to develop effective conveyance of the company's tax position and to rebut proposed adjustments. Report and pay taxes on a timely basis to assure proper compliance with local regulations. (Income tax, Asset tax, Value Added tax, Professional fees, 3% payroll, Social Security, Housing Founds, Retirement funds, Taxes return, Gringo Tax & VAT Return.) Supervise payroll entries and conciliation between payroll and accounting. Supervise staff of two, cost accountant and financial analyst. Coordinate the consolidation of capital assets, maintenance and operating budgets, and the review of appropriation requests. Monitor budgets to ensure that expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized and, as authorized, introduce measures to prevent or resolve problems. Interpret operating results as they affect financial aspects of the business and recommend measures to reduce costs and increase profits. Recommend equipment or procedural changes to increase the organization's effectiveness and contribute to customer satisfaction. Conduct investigations, prepare reports and associated recommendations and make presentations to management. Provide financial advice to executives, on issues of major significance that may impact business decisions. Prepare statistics for financial statements, including preparation of charts and graphs depicting progress, conditions and results, and related reports and recommendations. Complexity of Tasks: Conducting investigations, performing or coordinating complex financial operations requires in-depth financial knowledge and skills, and thorough understanding of Company operations and business practices. Strong interpersonal skills required to successfully implement policies and negotiate with customers on matters that may substantially impact profits, current and future business. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field and 12 to 16 years experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
