Molding Technician

Purpose of Position.            

Drying Technician 

Responsible to insure the properly drying of plastics resin is utilized to minimize or eliminate problems that may be caused by moisture in a plastic material during processing to keep the molding machines working with efficient OEE to meet the Molding area Metrics and to assure good quality parts to promote an efficient operation 

Process Techician 

Responsible for following the production plan, making mold changes and delivering quality parts for verification. Provide technical support to shift for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Ensure equipment and processes meet and maintain the operation run.

Responsibilities for Drying Technician  

General 

·      Responsible for dryers, blenders, set up including auxiliary equipment as related to the drying system 

·      Responsible to loading and drying system alarms in a timely manner 

·      Stop the drying system , vacuum pumps and all equipment when end production   

·      Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials and equipment related to the drying system    

·      Responsible for equipment as loading system, blenders, grinders settings in conformance with the Visual Aids. 

·      Ability to keep drying process optimized to ensure material integrity and maximum part performance (drying time, drying temperature, air flow & dew point) 

·      Be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner 

·      Cover vacations and personal time for other Drying Technicians 

·      Perform all additional duties as required by the Process Engineering team 

·      Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts 

·      Provide technical support to shift for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Ensure equipment and processes meet and sustain standard production outputs 

·      Work closely with tool room, maintenance, production, Quality & Process Engineer for scheduling any tool work that is required  

·      Provide ideas and corrective actions for ongoing manufacturing issues 

·      Follow all company policies and procedure 

·      Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner 

·      Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts 

·      Responsible for the timely completion projects 

Responsibilities of Process Technician 

General 

·      Monitor & record mold cavitation in every machine Startup on mold tag  

·      Work closely with tool room, maintenance, production, Quality & Process Engineer for scheduling any tool work that is required  

·      Cover vacations and personal time for other Process Techs 

·      Keep updated setup sheets at machines at all times and keep a new set up sheet with the right machine number and the latest date. 

·      Maintain the Standard cycle time on all machines at all times 

·      Maintain Safety guards in Molding Machines for optimum effectiveness. 

·      Assist in shut downs and start-ups 

·      Follow all company policies and procedure 

·      Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives 

·      Set low pressure and mold protection to ensure minimal risk of mold damage and clean and protect the molds before removal from the press and prior to storage 

·      Responsible for molding machine set up including auxiliary equipment as related to the molding process 

·      Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner 

·      Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling 

·      Mount and unmount molds

Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

Education.

·      Technical Degree

Work Experience

·      3-5 years of experience on setup and changeover in drying system / Mold Chance overs and injection molding area.

·      Knowledge and operation of a diversity of drying process and equipment used to supply resin to injection molding machines ( dryers, blenders, grinders, vacuum pumps, tilters, metal separator, etc)   

·       Knowledge and operation of a diversity of molding equipment in according with changes molds. 

·      English skills not required
