Descripción

Management of the EHS function is based on a company-wide Management System that begins with Company's policy and formal Commitment to health, safety and the environment, and is reinforced by specific standards addressing our EHS risks and requirements that are clearly communicated, regularly audited, and continually improved. Implementation of, and compliance with, the EHS Management System is led by our business and operations leadership and supported by the EHS function.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for EHS.
  • Assist all assigned locations with Maturity assessment & Audit preparation.
  • Verify and approve the annual Maturity assessment & the closure of corrective actions.
  • Insure that newly acquired or greenfield sites are properly integrated into the EHS Management System.
  • Participate in the hiring and orientation of new EHS engineers.
  • Provide input and approval for both the annual EHS objectives and the annual performance appraisal for all EHS engineers.
  • Monitor emerging EHS legislation and regulations that impact our businesses. Assure that all operation are in compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
  • Provide advice and assistance during any EHS regulatory visit.
  • As appropriate, provide oversight and participate in serious incident investigations.
  • Participate in Corporate EHS Audit Teams.
  • Provide assistance on EHS issues pertaining to EHS Design Reviews or other real-estate transactions.
  • Assist with the approval of hazardous waste vendors within the region.
  • Assist with the coordination and presentation of appropriate Corporate EHS sponsored training programs, including: EHS Auditor Training, Integrating EHS accelerator, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, etc.
  • Participate in the Regional EHS Network meetings.
  • Approve all Loss Prevention Abeyance requests.
  • Request the assistance of the Regional Subject Matter Specialists, as appropriate.
  • Manage other functional projects, as requested.



REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is required. Master's or other advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, in English and at least one other major language used within the area being serviced.
  • Strong experience in similar leadership EHS roles in Manufacturing operations.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical installations.
  • EHS Management Systems experience, such as ISOs certifications and EHS compliance and systems auditing experience is required.
