Leading manufacturing company in the USA and Mexico is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join their team and oversee the financial operations with a specialized focus on taxes, US accounting procedures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and Quick Books expertise.

Description

  1. Tax Compliance and Planning:

    • Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
    • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure the company's tax strategies remain effective and compliant.
  2. US Accounting:

    • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP standards.
    • Coordinate with internal departments to gather financial data and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  3. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GA-AP.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Present financial reports to senior management and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
  4. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:

    • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment processing, collections, and credit management.
    • Implement and maintain efficient processes and controls to optimize cash flow and minimize risk.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of vendor accounts and customer accounts.
  5. Quick Books Expertise:

    • Utilize Quick-Books software to manage accounting records, generate reports, and streamline accounting processes.
    • Provide training and support to accounting staff on Quick-Books functionality and best practices.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Quick-Books usage.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a focus on taxes, US accounting procedures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and Quick-Books.
  • Extensive knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, with experience in tax planning and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of US GA AP standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Quick-Books software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
