Tooling Manager

Requirement:

• Scholarship: Industrial or mechanical engineering or any other related engineering area.
• Tooling and Machining Background
• Experience: 5 years in a position or similar Minimum 5 years' experience in the position with personnel supervision, development of local suppliers' tools repairs and analytical experience.
• Languages: Advance English
• Strong skills on CAD-CAM and Visi software

Knowledge:

•           Maintenance knowledge and adjustments of Progressive, transfer & simple Dies

•           GD&T

•           Drawings Interpretation

•           Software experience (AutoCAD, VISI, Microsoft products)

•           ERP / EDI (Plex, SAP, Oracle)

•           Precision Measuring tools

•           Mechanical, Hydraulic, Servo press & related equipment.

•           CNC machining equipment (Wire EDM, machining center, CNC lathes)

•           Conventional machining equipment (Mills, grinder, lathes, saw, drills)

•           Tools steel & related heat treatment

•           Fabrication and MIG and TIG welding

•           Quality systems and inspection equipment (CMM and Gages)

Job responsibilities:

Tooling Maintenance

• Development strategies of preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Develops short- and long-term strategies to rapidly for improvements focus to reduce labor/time during the setup and maintenance process, reduce quality complains and waste of material.
• Implement strategies to assure the team have the needed training, openly sharing their guidance and technical expertise for ensure & prevent future or repetitive problems.
• Monitoring of activities and assignment of priorities in bench / press
• Ensure the correct use of machinery, equipment, and resources in the area. Ensure the safe and correct use of equipment.

Tooling Troubleshooting

• Support the toolmakers in the presses according to the escalation process.
• Direct involvement of problems in the press under the Go, See & Fix principle.
• Actively involved in the daily routine of each group in tooling area. Is there to help with decision on troubled tools and to come up with a plan to fix issues on tools.

Machining

• Research of new machining techniques to stay up to date with today's technology.
• Controls cost of consumable tooling, machine maintenance and the amount of scrap/rework of details whether in-house or outside vendors.
• Implementation of KPI's to assure the best utilization of the equipment and personnel.
• Assure the fabrication of spare parts required for the tooling.

Tooling Design

• Participates in a feasibility meeting on all new jobs awarded or ready for launching.
• Attends the tooling meeting and contributes ideas or suggestions. Provides an update on the design status for dies, fixtures & gages.

Tooling Launch

• Coordinate and ensure the correct launch of new or transfer dies according to APQP times.
• Ensure the correct delivery of new dies or transfer from launch to production.

General

• Implement strategies plans to achieve the corporate goals of the company and department goals.
• Is the responsible to support customers helps them out as best as possible about tooling situations.
• Promote / create projects that allow the reduction of the cost of operations or the reduction of expenses.
