As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for the team testing the software technology for the industry's most innovative and awarding-connected home audio solution. From Linux OS to highly customized and performance-driven audio, WiFi, platform API functionality and mobile applications, you will be working with modern tools on the leading edge of embedded software development and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review requirements, behavior specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover issues prior to implementation.
- Manage the QA team, set goals, and provide timely and constructive feedback
- Create, Maintain, manage and enforce Test plan
- Be an active participant and engaged part of your feature team – you are the voice of both quality and the customer during the development process.
- Create, execute and maintain functional and system level regression test suites.
- Work with the development team to investigate logs, debug both software and hardware issues, triage bugs to determine root cause and establish prioritization
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience testing mobile and Linux environments
- Solid understanding of software test engineering principles, tools, techniques, and execution with an emphasis on embedded software or mobile applications
- Experience working with Linux systems or with mobile platforms (MUST)
- Linux device drivers/os or system level experience, wireless 802.11 or BT/BLE. (MUST)
- Network with expertise in troubleshooting and debugging (e.g. Wi-fi, Bluetooth, network in general) (MUST)
- Experience testing cloud, RESTful APIs, HTTP technologies and with a range of 3rd party API platforms
- Being able to create functional test plans that validate functionality at these lower system levels with a mix of manual/data/automation.
- Experience with source control, continuous integration servers, issue tracking and collaboration tools (Git, TestRail, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence)
- It would not be required for this role to write the automated software or instrumentation. Just understand enough to build a test strategy that includes it.
