ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage product design throughout the products lifecycle, acting as a single contact for engineering issues with BOM's, prints, tolerance stack up and manufacturing processes.
• Primary interface between 3 business units and the manufacturing organization.
• Gather data on issues, document the issues and convey the problem back to the responsible engineering team, providing possible solutions to fix the problem.
• Initiate and coordinate new vendors and alternate components.
• Participate in cost reduction projects as required.
• Participate in productivity process improvements with manufacturing engineering.
• Serve as a technical resource for purchasing, both in Monterrey and the business unit.
• Assist in the training of operators and supervisors with both existing and new products in production.
• Perform ECNs, deviations, drafting, documentation, and prototype construction.
• Occasional travel to the US is expected.

CRITICAL SKILLS 

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent are required.
• 5+ years of experience in supporting a production facility preferred.
• Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM systems, and other related experience acquired from lower grade positions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to determine the origin of problems and initiate corrective action.
• Good communication skills with written and spoken English language.
• Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.
• Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
