Manage product design throughout the products lifecycle, acting as a single contact for engineering issues with BOM's, prints, tolerance stack up and manufacturing processes.
Primary interface between 3 business units and the manufacturing organization.
Gather data on issues, document the issues and convey the problem back to the responsible engineering team, providing possible solutions to fix the problem.
Initiate and coordinate new vendors and alternate components.
Participate in cost reduction projects as required.
Participate in productivity process improvements with manufacturing engineering.
Serve as a technical resource for purchasing, both in Monterrey and the business unit.
Assist in the training of operators and supervisors with both existing and new products in production.
Perform ECNs, deviations, drafting, documentation, and prototype construction.
Occasional travel to the US is expected.
CRITICAL SKILLS
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent are required.
5+ years of experience in supporting a production facility preferred.
Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM systems, and other related experience acquired from lower grade positions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to determine the origin of problems and initiate corrective action.
Good communication skills with written and spoken English language.
Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.
Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
