Assistant Vice President - Credit Risk Review



?Role purpose:


Lead credit review activities by conducting offsite credit reviews of individual sites in HBUS. WCRU is a dedicated second line of defense function in providing an independent and rigorous assessment of Wholesale credit risk on a continuous basis. This ongoing assessment/review by the WCRU team shall determine whether commercial credit risk is being identified, managed and reported within established guidelines. 



Main activities:


  • Primarily responsible for performing reviews to assess the design and operation of internal controls related to the management of credit risk for assigned projects/processes and to ensure appropriate governance and oversight, to assess entire credit cycle risk strategies, policies, systems and risk team capabilities in Wholesale Credit Risk.
  • Participate in assignments of varying complexity. Act as Officer in Charge (OIC) for reviews of low to moderate complexity.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports as well as internal and external communication.
  • Knowledge of credit risk processes, analytics and risk management practices



Calificaciones - Externas


  • Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
  • MBA, MF or similar, and/or professional credentials such as CFA or CIA would be highly valued.
  • 100% fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Advanced Excel and database management would be a plus.
  • A minimum of three years of working experience in credit risk related fields (e.g. credit risk review, credit cycle management, relationship management and lending experience, including counterparty risk or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge/significant experience in wholesale Credit Risk.
  • Knowledge of structured transactions (such as project finance, debt/equity issuances, M&A, etc), and derivatives would be a plus.  
  • Strong economic and business analytic capabilities, including the ability to read and understand financial statements.
