American Company is seeking a hands-on Sr. Accountant to oversee the accounting operations of its sales and service business. He/She will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting and will provide recommendations to management to improve the Company's accounting processes. The Sr. Accountant will report to the Director of Finance.

The Sr. Accountant will work with the Finance leadership team on reporting, company initiatives, and alignment of policies and procedures. As such must be highly proficient in English with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Broadly speaking the duties and responsibilities of the job are as follows:

·        Manage all accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Inventory/Cost Accounting,

·        Responsible for fixed asset control, amortizations e.g., insurance; and preparing the account-fiscal reconciliation.

·        Oversee the tax payments, related obligations, and invoicing tax effects.

·        Manage month-end closing and prepare/review journal entries and account reconciliations, meeting closing deadlines.

·        Prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports.

·        Analyze manufacturing and profit and loss variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.

·        Provides proactive consultation, interpretation on operational matters to various department leaders used to drive business decisions.

·        Collaborates with the Finance Director and others to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations.

·        Ensures proper accounting in accordance with local statutory requirements as well as U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

·        Owns and manages the annual physical inventory process.

·        Work with third party accounting firm to facilitate annual financial statement and tax audit, tax return preparation, and work with Finance team on consolidated financial statement audit.

·        Maintain historical accounting and tax files documents.

·        Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Job qualifications and requirements:

·        Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA is also desirable.

·        Must be fluent in English and Spanish.   

·        At least 5 years' experience in Accounting or Controlling, ideally with knowledge experience in manufacturing. Experience in accounting firms is also desirable.

·        Must be well versed in Mexican accounting and tax compliance and have some familiarity reporting up to a U.S. entity.

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and personal.

·        Demonstrate strong evidence of working in an accounting / administrative role.

·        Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to work with all stakeholders.
